Walter V. Davidson, 70 of Route 1, Salem (Buffalo Calf Road) departed this life on Sunday, February 14, 2010 at his residence.
He was born on Turkey Run, Salem on July 15,1939 a son of the late Roy V. and Gatha Randolph Davidson. On May 5, 1972 he married Marlene Pratt Davidson who survives.
Also surviving are two daughters, Diana Maxwell and husband Kevin, Katy Lick, Connie Wallace and husband George, Indianapolis, IN, one son, David Davidson and wife Carol, Salem, one step daughter, Denise Batdorf and husband Dave, Conover, NC, one step son, Glenn Wilson, PA, grandchildren, Elijah, Caleb, Emily and Autumn Jones, step grandchildren, Lisa and Dave Britton, Laura, Kenny and Kyle Batdorf of NC, one nephew, Orva Davis and wife Vickie, West Milford and four great nieces and one great nephew.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Leonard and Elden Gene Davidson, one sister, Mary Lou Davis Bland, two infant brothers, Raymond and Robert Davidson and a niece, Audrey Sue Davis Miller.
Mr. Davidson had worked for Harglow Glass as Night Watchman and the City of Salem in the Street and Water Department. He was a farmer and enjoyed working with horses. Walter was a member of the Salem United Methodist Church and a member of the Ohio Valley Fox Hunters Association. He enjoyed fox hunting with his buddies and spending time with his family. Walter was a loving husband, father and grandfather and will be sadly missed.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, February 18, 2010 at 1:00 PM in the Harbert Funeral Home, 287 W. Main St., Salem with Pastor Kevin Bender presiding. Interment will follow in the Salem I. O.O.F. Memorial Park. Family and friends may call on Wednesday, February 17, 2010 from 4-8PM and after 9AM on Thursday until time of service.
