William Bill Davis, 80, of 66 Rustic Lane, Bristol departed this life on Tuesday, January 29, 2013 in his residence.
He was born on December 26, 1932 in Doddridge County, a son of the late Earl B. and Sissy Barker Davis. On December 4, 1952 he married Edna Jean Siders Davis who survives.
Surviving is one granddaughter, Priscilla Wagner and husband Justin, Clarksburg, daughter-in-law, Patty Jo Siders, Fairmont, one great granddaughter, Angelina Marie Wagner and one great grandson, Joseph Raymond Wagner, one brother, Fred Davis, Salem, one sister-in-law, Dixie Davis, Salem and several nieces and nephews. One son Terry Davis, one sister, Eva Bonnell, three brothers, James, Willard and Willis Davis preceded him in death.
Bill was in the Merchant Marines for 17 years and retired as a heavy equipment operator with 25 years service. He was a member the International Union of Operator Engineers #132. Bill and his wife owned and operated Daviss Dozer & Backhoe Construction Company. Bill owned several antique cars and enjoyed driving them in parades. He was Methodist. Bill was a loving husband, father and grandfather and will be sadly missed by his family and friends.
Funeral services will be conducted in the Harbert Funeral Home 287 W. Main St. Salem on Friday February 1, 2013 at 1:00PM with Pastor Denver Burnside presiding. Interment will follow in the K of P Memorial Park, Salem. Full military graveside rites will be accorded by the Combined Doddridge County Veterans Organization. The family will receive friends in the funeral home chapel on Thursday, January 31, 2013 from 4-8 PM and after 9AM on Friday until time of service.
