William D. "Bill" Price, 74 of E. Main St. Salem went to his heavenly home on Sunday, July 24, 2016 after a long battle with heart disease. He was born on April 7, 1942 in Salem to the late Howard and Fannie Eva Davis Price.
Surviving is one son, William D. Price Jr. Clarksburg, one sister, Louella Jean Green, Kill Devils Hills, NC, former wife, Patricia A. Price, Clarksburg, several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by four brothers, Howard E. Price, Donald D. Price, Robert R. Price and Eric S. Price,
Bill graduated from Salem High School and had attended Salem College and the W.V. Business College. He retired from Tom's Foods as a Supervisor. Bill served in the W.V. National Guard, U.S. Navy and had served as a policeman of which he was a long time member of the Fraternal Order of Police #78. He was on the Board of Directors of the North Bend Rails for Trails and was appointed by the City Council of Salem as the Volunteer Superintendant of the Jimmie Helmick Memorial Depot Park of which he took great pride in painting and maintaining. Bill was named Citizen of the Year in 2007 by the Salem Chamber of Commerce. He was a member of Liberty Addition Church of God where he had served on the Pastor's Council and Board of Trustees.
At Bill's request he was cremated. Harbert Funeral Home is privileged to serve the Price family.
