William "Billy" Coy Jennings Pratt

William “Billy” Coy Jennings Pratt, 24, of Smithburg, passed away on Tuesday, June 18, 2024 after a terrible logging accident. He was born on July 14, 1999, in Clarksburg, a son of William Coy and Melissa Charlene Nottingham Pratt of Smithburg.

Billy graduated from Doddridge County High School, Class of 2017. He enjoyed his job as a logger as well as fishing, hunting, gardening, being outdoors, going mushroom hunting and being a mechanic. He loved being a father to Paisley and racing dirt cars at the Tyler County Speedway

In addition to his parents, Billy is survived by his companion of three years, Emily Katherine Simmons; one daughter, Paisley Shay Charlene Pratt; three siblings, Katie Shaffer (Ryan Walton), West Union, Nathaniel Shaffer (Ciarra), Smithburg, Michael Pratt (Hannah) West Union; maternal grandparents, Charles and Loretta Nottingham Smith, Middlebourne; paternal grandparents, William Jennings and Alice Virginia Pritt Pratt, Smithburg; special cousins like siblings, Dalton Pratt (Amanda), Tabby Pratt (Buck), Chelsi McCloy (Danny); nieces and nephews, Layton, Oakleigh, Avery, Ivy, Tallulah, Alfie, Daxton, Waylon, Josiah, Wyatt, and Nevaeh; several aunts, uncles and cousins.   

Family will receive friends at Davis Funeral Home - Salem, 1999 W. Main Street, Salem, on Friday, June 28, 2024 from 3-7PM and on Saturday, June 29, 2024 from 9:00 AM until the time of the Funeral Service at 11:00 AM with Pastor Kenneth Lloyd officiating.  Interment will follow at Masonic Memorial Park, West Union. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to his Care Fund on his memorial page.
