William Jack “Billy Jack” Ash, 64, of Salem, passed away on Sunday, November 30, 2025 in Salem. He was born on January 15, 1961 in Clarksburg, a son of the late Walter Jack Ash and Barbara Ann Swiger Ash.
He is survived by two daughters, Erica Kirk-Huff of Martinsburg and one other daughter; eight grandchildren; siblings, Alford Gene Ash, Sr. of St. Thomas PA, David Michael Ash of Green Castle, PA, Tammy Jo Bowers of Martinsburg, WV and Tonya A. Church of Salem.
In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by one son, William Craig Ash and one brother, Walter Larry Ash.
Billy Jack will be remembered for his warm, outgoing personality and the way he could make a friend anywhere he went. A skilled carpenter, he took great pride in his work and especially loved building fences, something he did with both talent and joy. He enjoyed nothing more than sharing a drink with friends at the end of a good day, or spending peaceful hours fishing. Billy Jack's easy laugh, generous spirit, and steadfast friendship touched everyone who knew him.
Billy Jack's wishes for cremation have been honored. Online condolences may be sent to DavisFuneralHomeSalemWV.com. Davis Funeral Home–Salem and Crematory is handling the cremation and is honored to serve the Ash family during this time.
