Wilma Jean “Jeanie” Dotson Taylor, 78, of the Big Battle Community, Center Point, in Doddridge County departed this life for her heavenly home on Saturday, July 27, 2024 at her residence surrounded by her loving family. She was born on April 23, 1946 in West Union, WV, the daughter of the late Joseph Wayne and Trella Mae (Cain) Dotson.

Jeanie is survived by her husband of 60 wonderful years, Randy Taylor; daughters, Debbie (Jeff) Snider of Grafton, WV and Cindy (Scott) Lagasse of Big Battle; grandchildren, James Snider, Dorie Snider, Jaymie Snider, Clayton (Tori) Lagasse, Sarah Snider, and Madison Lagasse; brother, Rendal Dotson; brother-in-laws Dwight (Gloria) Davis, Bruce (Bonnie) Davis, Rusty (Holly) Taylor, Jerry Morgan, John Gruetter, Lou Ansline; several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Jeanie is preceded in passing by two sisters, Faye Morgan and Linda “Sue” Gruetter; one infant brother and one infant sister; one infant grandson.

Jeanie graduated from Doddridge County High School Class of 1964. Later she furthered her education by taking library classes at Marshall University. Jeanie worked at the Center Point Outpost Library and retired after 32 years. The friendships and memories made there were very special to her.

Jeanie was a long-time member of the Welcome Baptist Church where she served as treasurer for 42 years, a member of the choir, and president of the ladies Auxiliary. Jeanie was a member of the Center Point CEO’s and also a member of the Center Point Cemetery Association.

Jeanie was a superb quilter, having won several ribbons at the Doddridge County Fair. These heirloom quilts will be loved and cherished for generations to come. She loved genealogy and helped several people in the community with family history. Jeanie also loved growing flowers, working in the garden, and canning food for her family.

Jeanie took great pride in being a dedicated grandmother to her grandchildren, supporting them in all of their endeavors. She loved making the holidays extra special by cooking her best dishes, and organizing games, crafts and fun activities for them to enjoy.

Jeanie was a matriarch of her family and was always happily involved with a reunion of any kind. She was a wonderful wife, mother, and grandmother, and was a friend to all who knew her. She will be greatly missed.
