Yvonne Onnie Swiger Herrod Koontz Jackson, beloved mother, grandmother, sister and aunt entered into eternal rest with our Lord on Sunday, August 29, 2010. She is now at peace and without pain. She has joined her parents, A.L. Joe Swiger, Jr. and Martha M. Cain Swiger and her first-born son, Joseph L. Herrod. She was born in Clarksburg on January 20, 1948.
Surviving are five sons, Jesse and Joey Herrod, whom we thank for taking wonderful care of Yvonne, Paul L. Luke Herrod and wife Melanie, Jarvisville, Charles D. Herrod and wife Jennifer, Salem, Brian M. Koontz and companion Melanie, Salem, one daughter, Holly Fisher and companion Brock, Clarksburg, 15 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren and one sister, Linda I. Criss and husband Cecil, Wallace. In addition to her parents and son, one sister, Lillian Cashdollar preceded her in death.
Yvonne had attended the Coplin United Methodist Church. The family would like to acknowledge Diane with Peoples Hospice and Val with United Hospital Center for going above and beyond the call of duty in the care of Yvonne.
Funeral Services will be held in the Harbert Funeral Home, 287 W. Main St., Salem on Thursday, September 2, 2010 at 1:00PM with Pastor Tim Sandy presiding. Interment will follow in the Coplin Cemetery, Jarvisville. The family will receive friends in the funeral home chapel on Wednesday, September 1, 2010 from 2-8PM and after 9AM on Thursday until time of service.
